Upgrading Note to chCounter Widget 2.7

July 27th, 2009

I just recognized a flaw in upgrading to the new chCounter Widget 2.7 from a previous version. The counter url will point to a wrong location, namely where chcounter was installed before. This does not affect the counter display, but navigation in the chcounter administration interface will not be possible. Either you could try to re-install chCounter, but I don’t know if it lets you. Alternatively open up phpMyadmin and select the table chc_config. Change the setting default_counter_url to the new location http://your_domain/path/to/plugins/dir/chcounter-widget/chcounter. The table may be called differently, depending on what prefix is used.

    Hallo Kolja,

The counter is installed in widgets-pages. If I try to configure more chcounter the following error message appears in plugins-page:
Warning: Missing argument 1 for chCounterWidget::installChCounter(), called in .\..\blog\wp-content\plugins\chcounter-widget\chcounter-widget.php on line 230 and defined in .\..\blog\wp-content\plugins\chcounter-widget\chcounter-widget.php on line 307

    What can I do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    a great plugin!
    ——–
    New to chCounter, I wonder:
    1. How do I change language on the widget showing the result on the blog?
I can’t get it to change to one of the languages following the chCounter-download or to my translation to Norwegian. What am I doing wrong?
For the statistics it works OK.

    2. The setup page (settings > chCounter) doesn’t show as much as the “Screenshot” of “chCounter Widget Settings”.
My settings page only shows the parameters “Available” and “Active” and the button “Save settings”.
No Admin Control Panel or anything else….

    What am I doing wrong?
