Shortcode Changes in LeagueManager 2.9+

since Version 2.9 the shortcodes to display data from LeagueManager have changed

[standings league_id=ID]

[crosstable league_id=ID]

[matches league_id=ID]

[match id=x]

[teams league_id=ID]

[team id=x]

That makes things a little shorter. The other attributes are the same.  Sorry for the inconvinience

    I’m still getting the 5:5 (goals) bug. Have a look at this screenshot:

    Hey,

    what sport type do you use? did you try to save mach results? For me it works with soccer sports

    I’ve tried them all. Do I have to preset it to soccer before adding teams, or could I change it when the league has started?

    I cannot help you if you don’t tell me what sport you are using! There is no special preset needed. You can change sport type of a running league, but then it is likely you loose some data unique to that type, so I don’t recommend it.

    I am using the soccer-preset now. And I have tried all of them. It still shows 5:5 even if a game is played or not.

    and you save match results again?

  7. interium
    May 30th, 2009 at 20:45 | #7

    Yes. I have tried others things too. Even adding half-time results on soccer. Now it returns this error:

    WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'overtime' in 'field list']
    SELECT `home_points`, `away_points`, `overtime` FROM wp_mwleaguemanager_matches WHERE `away_team` = ‘56′

    56, 57, 58 and 59

    I am going to use this leaguemanager for å gaming ladder. Pc-shooter.

    again: what sports type did you use when you experienced the goal bug. PC-Shooter has no goals^^

    Not sure if we’re on the same wavelength here. No matter what gametype I use, there will be Goals in the expanded table, right? Even if I choose Soccer, the results are wrong on the table. You cant lose 3 games and still have 0:0 on goals, you cant win a game and still have 0:0 on goals.

    I made a PS-mockup:

    I’ve got a few bugs to report with 2.9.2. I just sent Kolja screencaps and details, but thought I’d post here too in case others are seeing the same issues.

    I’m running two leagues. Each has the same settings:
    sport=other
    points=2-point-rule
    points format=%d
    team ranking=auto
    mode=default

    In the first league standings, the goals for/against are all 2:2. In the second league, the goals for/against are okay, but the teams aren’t sorted best-to-worst.

    In the schedules, the match day pulldown only gives 1 or 2, even though there are more match days.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ve finally figuring out what the problem with goals not updating is. Some sports, such as “Other” and “PC-Shooter” simply don’t have goals. The frontend templates however are currently not designed for this purpose, but if you check the backend there should not be goals displayed for every sport. The problem with only two match days in the dropdown is already fixed.

    @Ian: Update Match Results for the second League and check if the ordering is then correct. With the last update I am storing the rank for each team in the database, before I’ve done that on the fly. Storing it in the database gives some speed enhancements and the possibility of tracking the status compared to the previous week and display up/downs in standings.

    I updated the second league (where the standings weren’t sorted) and now it’s sorted, with the same 2:2 goals issue as before.

    My leagues are for ultimate frisbee. I’m only interested in entering final scores (matches are usually to 17). The goals for/against is a useful metric. What’s the best sport to use, if ‘other’ is no longer appropriate?

    You say that ‘two match days’ issue is solved. I’m running 2.9.2. Is there an update that I should be installing?

    Thanks in advance!

    Well, I could add a sport “Other with Goals”. Besides: if you are familiar with PHP and a little HTML/CSS you could implement any sport quite easily. If you want the match day fix right away you can use the development version, otherwise you’d have to wait a couple of days.

  14. June 1st, 2009 at 19:51 | #14

    An ‘other with goals’ would be super, but not critical. I’ve changed the league to use the handball rules. It only shows more in the backend, so the tables now display properly.

    I took a look at the sports .php files, but they’re a bit beyond my abilities to easily create a new one.

    If you’ll be releasing a 2.9.3 this week, I’ll just wait for that so that I can update it automatically.

    Thanks for all your hard work!

    Hi Kolja!

    You have fixed all my problems with v3.0.2 as I see now.
    Thank you for your job very much!

  16. June 4th, 2009 at 13:07 | #16

    Hi Kolja,

    I just upgraded to 3.0.2 and it looks like all the issues I had were resolved. Thanks :)

    Hi

    There is a bug on Team edit/add page. The OK or Change button is lost.
    Now i am working with 3.0.3 but it was wrong in 3.0.2 too.

    @ZionDUC
    I’v installed the Capability Manager plugin right now. Maybe this plugin changed something?

    Do you have ProjectManager installed? If yes, what version and is it active? What is the last field you see in the team edit page?

  20. June 6th, 2009 at 09:05 | #20

    Hi Kolja,

    I have installed Project Manager but it was inactive, and I saw Team Roster as last field.
    When I activate Project Manager (2.5.6) it gives me back the Edit team button. I have no dataset, so this Project Manager is clear but I have to active it to see Edit team button.

    Sorry, but there is an other problem again with 3.0.4:
    “[matches league_id=x mode=all|home] If mode is missing the matches will be displayed ordered by match days (default)” works wrong again. It shows only the first round without changing possibility. (It was perfect with 3.0.3)
